Audition Tour Update:

As most of you know, I spent 10 weeks traveling through Germany and Austria on an audition tour in the Fall of 2007, almost a year ago!  I sang a total of 7 auditions and visited Frankfurt, Berlin, Leipzig, Munich, Dusseldorf, Cologne, Bad Kreuznach and Bergishe Gladbach in Germany and Salzburg, Klagenfurt and Vienna in Austria - Whew!

While there were some challenging times, most of the trip was like living a dream - my first trip to Europe, so beautiful!  I met many new wonderful friends and I received a lot of positive feedback.  Two agents told me they loved my voice, but that I need to go home and learn Brunhilde (The heroine role who appears in three of the four "Ring Cycle" operas by Wagner and the biggest role in all of Opera) then come back in a year or two with the role fully prepared and memorized. Once at that level, they could then send me on house auditions and put me to work singing Wagner! :)

So that's what I have been doing:  Getting my technique up to the level needed to sing this very difficult music and learning about Wagner and the thousands of pages of music that make-up Brunhilde and the operas she appears in!  Currently, I have 5 new Wagner arias and am just completing a new CD of Wagner arias, which will be available for purchase by the end of October.  I will continue to learn and coach Brunhilde and hope to return to Germany on another tour Fall of 2009
